The Trial Before Pilate

Mt 27:1: Πρωΐας δὲ γενομένης συμβούλιον ἔλαβον πάντες οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ κατὰ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ ὥστε θανατῶσαι αὐτόν·

Mt 27:2: καὶ δήσαντες αὐτὸν ἀπήγαγον καὶ παρέδωκαν Πιλάτῳ τῷ ἡγεμόνι.¶


Mt 27:11: Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἐστάθη ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ ἡγεμόνος· καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν ἡγεμὼν λέγων· Σὺ εἶ Βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων; δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἔφη· Σὺ λέγεις.

Mt 27:12: Καὶ ἐν τῷ κατηγορεῖσθαι αὐτὸν ὑπὸ τῶν ἀρχιερέων καὶ πρεσβυτέρων οὐδὲν ἀπεκρίνατο.

Mt 27:14: Καὶ οὐκ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτῷ πρὸς οὐδὲ ἓν ῥῆμα, ὥστε θαυμάζειν τὸν ἡγεμόνα λίαν.¶

Mk 15:1: Καὶ εὐθὺς πρωῒ συμβούλιον ποιήσαντες οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς μετὰ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων καὶ γραμματέων καὶ ὅλον τὸ συνέδριον, δήσαντες τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἀπήνεγκαν καὶ παρέδωκαν Πιλάτῳ.¶

Mk 15:2: Καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν Πιλᾶτος· Σὺ εἶ Βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων; δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτῷ λέγει· Σὺ λέγεις.

Mk 15:3: Καὶ κατηγόρουν αὐτοῦ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς πολλά.

Mk 15:5: Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς οὐκέτι οὐδὲν ἀπεκρίθη, ὥστε θαυμάζειν τὸν Πιλᾶτον.¶

Lk 22:66: Καὶ ὡς ἐγένετο ἡμέρα, συνήχθη τὸ πρεσβυτέριον τοῦ λαοῦ, ἀρχιερεῖς τε καὶ γραμματεῖς, καὶ ἀπήγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ συνέδριον αὐτῶν

Lk 23:1: Καὶ ἀναστὰν ἅπαν τὸ πλῆθος αὐτῶν ἤγαγον αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν Πιλᾶτον.¶

Lk 23:3: δὲ Πιλᾶτος ἠρώτησεν αὐτὸν λέγων· Σὺ εἶ Βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων; δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτῷ ἔφη· Σὺ λέγεις.

Lk 23:9: ἐπηρώτα δὲ αὐτὸν ἐν λόγοις ἱκανοῖς, αὐτὸς δὲ οὐδὲν ἀπεκρίνατο αὐτῷ.

Lk 23:10: Εἱστήκεισαν δὲ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς εὐτόνως κατηγοροῦντες αὐτοῦ.

Jn 18:28: Ἄγουσιν οὖν τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ Καϊάφα εἰς τὸ πραιτώριον· ἦν δὲ πρωΐ· καὶ αὐτοὶ οὐκ εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὸ πραιτώριον, ἵνα μὴ μιανθῶσιν ἀλλὰ φάγωσιν τὸ πάσχα.

Jn 18:33: Εἰσῆλθεν οὖν πάλιν εἰς τὸ πραιτώριον ὁ Πιλᾶτος καὶ ἐφώνησεν τὸν Ἰησοῦν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Σὺ εἶ Βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων;

Jn 18:34: Ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς· Ἀπὸ σεαυτοῦ σὺ τοῦτο λέγεις ἢ ἄλλοι εἶπόν σοι περὶ ἐμοῦ;

Jn 18:37: Εἶπεν οὖν αὐτῷ ὁ Πιλᾶτος· Οὐκοῦν βασιλεὺς εἶ σύ; Ἀπεκρίθη ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Σὺ λέγεις ὅτι βασιλεύς εἰμι. ἐγὼ εἰς τοῦτο γεγέννημαι καὶ εἰς τοῦτο ἐλήλυθα εἰς τὸν κόσμον, ἵνα μαρτυρήσω τῇ ἀληθείᾳ· πᾶς ὁ ὢν ἐκ τῆς ἀληθείας ἀκούει μου τῆς φωνῆς.

Mt 27:1: And morning having arrived, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death.

Mt 27:2: And having bound Him, they led [Him] away and delivered [Him] to Pilate the governor.

Mt 27:11: Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” And Jesus said, “You say.”

Mt 27:12: And in His being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.

Mt 27:14: And He did not answer him, not even to one word, so as to amaze the governor exceedingly.

Mk 15:1: And early in the morning, having formed a counsel, the chief priests, with the elders and scribes and the whole Council, having bound Jesus, led [Him] away and delivered [Him] to Pilate.

Mk 15:2: And Pilate questioned Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” And answering, He says to him, “You have said.”

Mk 15:3: And the chief priests were accusing Him harshly.

Mk 15:5: But Jesus answered no further, so as to amaze Pilate.

Lk 22:66: And when it became day, the elderhood of the people were gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him into their council, saying,

Lk 23:1: And having risen up, all the multitude of them led Him to Pilate.

Lk 23:3: And Pilate questioned Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” And answering him, He was saying, “You say.”

Lk 23:9: And He kept questioning Him in many words, but He answered him nothing.

Lk 23:10: And the chief priests and the scribes had been standing by, vehemently accusing Him.

Jn 18:28: Then they are leading Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. Now it was early, and they did not enter into the Praetorium, so that they should not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.

Jn 18:33: Therefore Pilate entered again into the Praetorium, and he called Jesus and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

Jn 18:34: Jesus answered, “Do you say this of yourself, or did others say [it] to you concerning Me?”

Jn 18:37: Therefore Pilate said to Him, “Then You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I may bear witness to the truth. Everyone being of the truth hears My voice.”

 

 

 


In the early morning, the high priests and the elders assembled. They led Jesus to Pilate.

Pilate asked him: “Are you the king of the Jews?” Jesus said: “You say so.” The chief priests accused him. But Jesus did not answer.
