Foretelling of the Betrayal

Mt 26:21-25; Mk 14:18-21; Lk 22:21-23; Jn 13:21-30

Mt 26:21: καὶ ἐσθιόντων αὐτῶν εἶπεν· Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι εἷς ἐξ ὑμῶν παραδώσει με.

Mt 26:23: Ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· Ὁ ἐμβάψας μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὴν χεῖρα ἐν τῷ τρυβλίῳ οὗτός με παραδώσει.

Mt 26:24: μὲν Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ὑπάγει καθὼς γέγραπται περὶ αὐτοῦ, οὐαὶ δὲ τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐκείνῳ δι᾽ οὗ ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται· καλὸν ἦν αὐτῷ εἰ οὐκ ἐγεννήθη ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖνος.

Mk 14:18: Καὶ ἀνακειμένων αὐτῶν καὶ ἐσθιόντων ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι εἷς ἐξ ὑμῶν παραδώσει με ὁ ἐσθίων μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ.

Mk 14:20: Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Εἷς τῶν δώδεκα, ὁ ἐμβαπτόμενος μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ εἰς τὸ τρύβλιον.

Mk 14:21: ὅτι μὲν Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ὑπάγει καθὼς γέγραπται περὶ αὐτοῦ, οὐαὶ δὲ τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐκείνῳ δι᾽ οὗ ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται· καλὸν αὐτῷ εἰ οὐκ ἐγεννήθη ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖνος.¶

Lk 22:21: Πλὴν ἰδοὺ ἡ χεὶρ τοῦ παραδιδόντος με μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης.

Lk 22:22: ὅτι Υἱὸς μὲν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου κατὰ τὸ ὡρισμένον πορεύεται, πλὴν οὐαὶ τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐκείνῳ δι᾽ οὗ παραδίδοται.

Jn 13:21: Ταῦτα εἰπὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐταράχθη τῷ πνεύματι καὶ ἐμαρτύρησεν καὶ εἶπεν· Ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι εἷς ἐξ ὑμῶν παραδώσει με.

Jn 13:26: Ἀποκρίνεται ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἐκεῖνός ἐστιν ᾧ ἐγὼ βάψω τὸ ψωμίον καὶ δώσω αὐτῷ. βάψας οὖν τὸ ψωμίον λαμβάνει καὶ δίδωσιν Ἰούδᾳ Σίμωνος Ἰσκαριώτου.

Mt 26:21: And [as] they were eating, He said to them, “Truly I say to you that one of you will betray Me.”

Mt 26:23: And answering He said, “The [one] having dipped the hand in the dish with Me, he will betray Me.

Mt 26:24: Indeed the Son of Man goes as it has been written about Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for him if that man had not been born.”

Mk 14:18: And [as] they were reclining and were eating, Jesus said, “Truly I say to you that one of you who is eating with Me will betray Me.”

Mk 14:20: And He said to them, “[It is] one of the Twelve, the [one] dipping in the bowl with Me.

Mk 14:21: For indeed the Son of Man goes as it has been written concerning Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed; [it were] better for him if that man had not been born.”

Lk 22:21: But, behold, the hand of him betraying Me [is] with Me on the table.

Lk 22:22: For indeed the Son of Man goes according to that having been determined. But woe to that man by whom He is betrayed.”

Jn 13:21: Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and He testified and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you that one of you will betray Me.”

Jn 13:26: Then Jesus answers, “It is he to whom I will dip the morsel and will give him.” Then having dipped the morsel, He takes [it] and gives [it] to Judas, [son] of Simon Iscariot.

 

 

 


Jesus said, “Truly I tell you that one of you will deliver me”

(They asked who. He said) “eating with me.”

“The Son of the Person goes as it has been ⸂written¦determined⸃, but woe to that person by whom the he is delivered!”
