Mt 26:6: And of Jesus having been in
Bethany in [the] house of Simon the
leper, Mt 26:7: a woman came to Him, having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and poured [it] on His head [as] He is reclining. … Mt 26:9: For this could have been sold for much, and have been given to [the] poor.” Mt 26:10: And Jesus having known, said to them, “Why do you cause trouble to the woman? For she did a beautiful work to Me. Mt 26:11: For the poor you always have with you, but not always do you have Me. Mt 26:12: For this [woman], in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, did [it] for My burial. |
Mk 14:3: And of Him being in Bethany
in the house of Simon the leper, of Him having reclined, a woman came
having an alabaster
flask of fragrant
oil of pure nard, of great price. Having broken the
alabaster flask, she poured [it] on His head. … Mk 14:5: For this fragrant oil could have been sold for above three hundred denarii, and have been given to the poor.” And they were grumbling at her. Mk 14:6: And Jesus said, “Leave her alone; why do you cause trouble to her? She did a good work toward Me. Mk 14:7: For the poor you always have with you, and you are able to do them good whenever you desire; but not always do you have Me. Mk 14:8: She did what she could. She came beforehand to anoint My body for the burial. |
Jn 12:1: Therefore six days before the Passover, Jesus came
to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom
Jesus had raised out from [the] dead. … Jn 12:3: Therefore Mary, having taken a litra of fragrant oil of pure nard, of great price, anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. … Jn 12:5: “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to [the] poor?” Jn 12:6: But he said this, not because he was caring for the poor, but because he was a thief; and having the money bag, he used to pilfer that being put into [it]. Jn 12:7: Therefore Jesus said, “Leave her alone, so that for the day of My burial she may keep it. Jn 12:8: For you always have the poor with you, but not always do you have Me.” |
In Bethany, a woman (Mary) (came to him) with an jar of very expensive
perfume and poured it on him.
(Some said,) “… and (the money) given to the poor.”
Jesus said, “You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me.
(She was preparing me for) the burial.”
