Mt 24:15: Therefore when
you shall see ‘the
abomination of desolation,’ having
been spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in [the] holy place– the,
[one] reading, let him understand– Mt 24:16: then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains; Mt 24:17: the [one] on the housetop, do not let him come down to take anything out of his house; Mt 24:18: and the [one] in the field, do not let him return back to take his cloak. Mt 24:19: And woe to those having in womb, and to the [ones] nursing infants in those days! |
Mk 13:14: And when
you see the abomination
of the desolation,
standing where it should not (the [one] reading, let him understand),
then those in
Judea, let them
flee to the
mountains; Mk 13:15: and the [one] upon the housetop, let him not come down nor go in to take anything out of his house; Mk 13:16: and the [one] in the field, let him not return to the things behind to take his clothing. Mk 13:17: And woe to those having in womb and to the [ones] nursing infants in those days! |
Lk 17:31: In that day, the [one who] will be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, do not let him come down to take them away; and likewise the [one] in [the] field, do not let him return to the things behind. |
Lk 21:20: And when
you see Jerusalem being encircled by
encampments, then know that her desolation has drawn
near. Lk 21:21: Then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains; and those in her midst, let them depart out; and those in the countries, let them not enter into her. … Lk 21:23: But woe to those having in womb, and to the [ones] nursing in those days. For there will be great distress upon the land and wrath to this people. |
“So when you see the devastation, then those who are in Judea must flee
to the mountains.
who is on the housetop must not come down to take his belongings from the house, and who is in the field must not turn back.
Alas for those who are pregnant or who are nursing in those days!”
Lk, the sentence about not retrieving belongings and not returning from the fields is in a different passage, a passage describing the coming of the Son of the Person. The 3W text that has the identical context in the three authors is reduced to:
“So when you see the devastation, then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.
Alas for those who are pregnant or who are nursing in those days!”
