Οὐ διὰ τοῦτο πλανᾶσθε μὴ εἰδότες τὰς γραφὰς μηδὲ τὴν δύναμιν τοῦ

“The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. Lk 20:35: But those having been considered worthy to obtain that which [is] to the age, and the resurrection which [is] from [the] dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage. |

have you not read in the book of Moses on the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I [am] the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? | even Moses showed at the bush, when he calls [the] Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and God of Isaac, and God of Jacob.’ |

Then Sadducees, who claim there is no resurrection, approached and asked
him, saying,
“Teacher, Moses wrote that if a someone dies without a child, his brother should marry the woman and raise up offspring for his brother.
There were seven brothers. The first one married and died without having children.
Then the second and the third and likewise the seven.
Last of all, the woman died.
In the resurrection, whose wife will she be, since the seven had her?”
Jesus said to them, “After the resurrection, they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like angels.
As for the dead being raised, (⎡Moses called|God said⎤) ‘⎡I am|the Lord is⎤ the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.’
He is not God of the dead, but of the living.”
