Mt 22:17: εἰπὲ οὖν ἡμῖν τί σοι δοκεῖ· ἔξεστιν δοῦναι κῆνσον Καίσαρι οὔ;

Mt 22:18: Γνοὺς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὴν πονηρίαν αὐτῶν εἶπεν· Τί με πειράζετε, ὑποκριταί;

Mt Mk Lk
Mt 22:15: Then the Pharisees having gone out, took counsel how they might trap Him in His words.

Mt 22:16: And they send their disciples to Him, with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and You teach the way of God in [the] truth, and to You there is care about no one, for You do not look on [the] appearance of men.

Mt 22:17: Therefore tell us, what do You think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?”

Mt 22:18: But having known their malice, Jesus said, “Hypocrites, why do you test Me?

Mt 22:19: Show Me the coin of the tribute.” And they presented to Him a denarius.

Mt 22:20: And He says to them, “Whose likeness and whose inscription [is] this?”

Mt 22:21: They say to Him, “Caesar’s.” Then He says to them, “Therefore give back to Caesar the things of Caesar, and to God the things of God.”

Mt 22:22: And having heard, they marveled. And having left Him, they went away.

Mk 12:13: And they send some of the Pharisees and Herodians to Him, that they might catch Him in discourse.

Mk 12:14: And having come, they say to Him, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and to You there is no care about [any] one; for You do not look on [the] appearance of men, but teach the way of God on the basis of [the] truth. Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not? Should we pay or not pay?”

Mk 12:15: And knowing their hypocrisy, He said to them, “Why do you test Me? Bring Me a denarius, that I might see [it].”

Mk 12:16: And they brought [it], and He says to them, “Whose likeness and inscription [is] this?” And they said to Him, “Caesar’s.”

Mk 12:17: And Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar the things of Caesar, and to God the things of God.” And they were amazed at Him.

Lk 20:20: And having watched [Him], they sent spies, feigning themselves to be righteous, that they might catch [Him] in His word, in order to deliver Him to the rule and to the authority of the governor.

Lk 20:21: And they questioned Him, saying, “Teacher, we know that You speak and teach rightly, and do not receive [any] person, but teach the way of God on the basis of truth.

Lk 20:22: Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or not?”

Lk 20:23: But having perceived their craftiness, He said to them,

Lk 20:24: “Show Me a denarius. Whose image and inscription does it have?” And they said, “Caesar’s.”

Lk 20:25: And He said to them, “Therefore give back to Caesar the things of Caesar, and to God the things of God.”

Lk 20:26: And they were not able to catch Him in His word before the people. And having marveled at His answer, they became silent.

They sent (some people), so as to trap him in his speach.

They said, “Teacher, we know that you are sincere and do not look at appearances.

You teach the way of God truthfully. Is it permitted to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”

But Jesus recognized their intention and said to them, “Show me a coin.”

“Whose face and inscription is this?” They said to him, “Caesar’s.”

So Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” And they were amazed.
