Mt 21:33-46; Mk 12:1-12; Lk 20:9-19

Mt Mk Lk

Mt 21:40: Ὅταν οὖν ἔλθῃ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος, τί ποιήσει τοῖς γεωργοῖς ἐκείνοις;

Mt Mk Lk
Mt 21:33: Hear another parable: There was a man, a master of a house, who planted a vineyard, and placed around it a fence, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower; and he rented it out to farmers and traveled abroad.

Mt 21:34: And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the farmers, to receive his fruits.

Mt 21:35: And the farmers having taken his servants, one they beat, and one they killed, and one they stoned.

Mt 21:36: Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them.

Mt 21:37: And afterward he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

Mt 21:38: But the farmers having seen the son, said among themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him and gain possession of his inheritance.’

Mt 21:39: And having taking him, they cast [him] out of the vineyard and killed [him].

Mt 21:40: Therefore when the master of the vineyard shall come, what will he do to those farmers?”

Mt 21:41: They say to him, “He will destroy them, [the] wretches, grievously, and he will rent out the vineyard to other farmers who will give to him the fruits in their seasons.”

Mt 21:42: Jesus says to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures: ‘[The] stone that those building rejected, this has become the chief corner. This was from [the] Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?

Mt 21:45: And the chief priests and the Pharisees, having heard His parables, knew that He speaks about them.

Mt 21:46: And seeking to lay hold of Him, they feared the crowds, because they were holding Him as a prophet.

Mk 12:1: And He began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard, and placed around [it] a fence, and dug a wine vat, and built a tower, and rented it out to farmers, and traveled abroad.

Mk 12:2: And he sent a servant to the farmers at the due time, that he might receive from the farmers from the fruit of the vineyard.

Mk 12:3: But having taken him, they beat [him], and sent [him] away empty-handed.

Mk 12:4: And again he sent to them another servant, and him they struck on the head, and treated shamefully.

Mk 12:6: Yet having one beloved son, he sent him to them last, saying, ‘They will have respect for my son.’

Mk 12:7: But those farmers said to themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’

Mk 12:8: And having taken [him], they killed him, and cast him forth outside the vineyard.

Mk 12:9: What therefore will the master of the vineyard do? He will come and will destroy the farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.

Mk 12:10: Have you not even read this Scripture: ‘[The] stone which those building rejected, this has become the chief corner;

Mk 12:12: And they were seeking to lay hold of Him, and yet they feared the crowd; for they knew that He had spoken the parable against them. And having left Him, they went away.

Lk 20:9: And He began to speak to the people this parable: “A certain man planted a vineyard, and rented it to farmers, and went abroad a long time.

Lk 20:10: And [in the] season, he sent a servant to the farmers, that they will give to him from the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers sent him away empty-handed, having beaten [him].

Lk 20:11: And he proceeded to send another servant; but having beaten [him] and having dishonored him, they sent [him] away empty-handed.

Lk 20:13: Then the master of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.’

Lk 20:14: And having seen him, the farmers began reasoning among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir; let us kill him, so that the inheritance might become ours.’

Lk 20:15: And having cast him forth outside the vineyard, they killed [him]. What therefore will the master of the vineyard do to them?

Lk 20:16: He will come and will destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” And having heard [it], they said, “Never may it be!”

Lk 20:17: But having looked at them, He said, “What then is this that has been written: ‘[The] stone which those building rejected, this has become into [the] head of [the] corner’?

Lk 20:19: And the scribes and the chief priests sought to lay hands on Him in that hour, and they feared the people. For they perceived that He was speaking this parable against them.

A parable…

“A man planted a vineyard. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and went abroad.

When time came, he sent a servant to the farmers (to collect) the fruit.

(But the farmers) beat him.

The man sent another servant to them. They did the same.

He sent his son to them, (saying,) ‘They will respect my son.’

But those farmers said to one another, ‘He is the heir.

We will kill him, and the inheritance will be ours!’ So they threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.

“Now what will the lord of the vineyard do when he comes? He will destroy the farmers and give the vineyard to others.

In the scripture:

‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.’”

They perceived that he told the parable about them and they tried to arrest him but were afraid of the crowd.
