In the Temple

Mt 21:12-17; Mk 11:15-17; Lk 19:45-46; Jn 2:13-16

Mt 21:12: Καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸ ἱερόν καὶ ἐξέβαλεν πάντας τοὺς πωλοῦντας καὶ ἀγοράζοντας ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ, καὶ τὰς τραπέζας τῶν κολλυβιστῶν κατέστρεψεν καὶ τὰς καθέδρας τῶν πωλούντων τὰς περιστεράς,

Mt 21:13: καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· Γέγραπται·
¬Ὁ
οἶκός μου οἶκος προσευχῆς κληθήσεται,
¬ὑμεῖς
δὲ αὐτὸν ποιεῖτε Σπήλαιον λῃστῶν.¶

Mk 11:15: Καὶ ἔρχονται εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα. Καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν ἤρξατο ἐκβάλλειν τοὺς πωλοῦντας καὶ τοὺς ἀγοράζοντας ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ, καὶ τὰς τραπέζας τῶν κολλυβιστῶν καὶ τὰς καθέδρας τῶν πωλούντων τὰς περιστερὰς κατέστρεψεν,

Mk 11:17: καὶ ἐδίδασκεν καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· Οὐ γέγραπται ὅτι
¬Ὁ
οἶκός μου οἶκος προσευχῆς κληθήσεται
¬πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν; ὑμεῖς δὲ πεποιήκατε αὐτὸν Σπήλαιον λῃστῶν.¶

Lk 19:45: Καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν ἤρξατο ἐκβάλλειν τοὺς πωλοῦντας

Lk 19:46: λέγων αὐτοῖς· Γέγραπται·
¬Καὶ ἔσται οἶκός μου οἶκος προσευχῆς, ὑμεῖς δὲ αὐτὸν ἐποιήσατε Σπήλαιον λῃστῶν.

Jn 2:14: καὶ εὗρεν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ τοὺς πωλοῦντας βόας καὶ πρόβατα καὶ περιστερὰς καὶ τοὺς κερματιστὰς καθημένους,

Jn 2:15: καὶ ποιήσας φραγέλλιον ἐκ σχοινίων πάντας ἐξέβαλεν ἐκ τοῦ ἱεροῦ τά τε πρόβατα καὶ τοὺς βόας, καὶ τῶν κολλυβιστῶν ἐξέχεεν τὰ κέρματα καὶ τὰς τραπέζας ἀνέτρεψεν,

Jn 2:16: καὶ τοῖς τὰς περιστερὰς πωλοῦσιν εἶπεν· Ἄρατε ταῦτα ἐντεῦθεν, μὴ ποιεῖτε τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Πατρός μου οἶκον ἐμπορίου.

Mt 21:12: And Jesus entered into the temple and cast out all those selling and buying in the temple, and He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling the doves.

Mt 21:13: And He says to them, “It has been written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer.’ But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”

Mk 11:15: And they come to Jerusalem. And having entered into the temple, He began to cast out those selling and those buying in the temple. And He overturned the tables of the money changers, and the seats of those selling doves.

Mk 11:17: And He began teaching, and was saying to them, “Has it not been written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”

Lk 19:45: And having entered into the temple, He began to cast out those selling,

Lk 19:46: saying to them, “It has been written: ‘And My house will be a house of prayer.’ But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”

Jn 2:14: And He found in the temple those selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting.

Jn 2:15: And having made a whip of cords, He drove out all from the temple, both sheep and oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overthrew the tables.

Jn 2:16: And to those selling doves He said, “Take these things from here! Do not make My Father’s house a house of trade.”

 

 

 


And Jesus went into the temple and threw out those who were selling.

And he overturned the tables of the money-changers and (drove away) those who sold the pigeons.

He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house (will be) a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a bandits’ den!”
