Healing the Epileptic Child

Mt 17:14-18; Mk 9:14-27; Lk 9:37-42

Mt Mk Lk

Mt Mk Lk
Mt 17:14: And they having come to the crowd, a man came to Him kneeling down to Him

Mt 17:15: and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic and suffers miserably; for often he falls into the fire, and often into the water.

Mt 17:16: And I brought him Your to disciples, and they were not able to heal him.”

Mt 17:17: And Jesus answering said, “O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.”

Mt 17:18: And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon went out from him, and the boy was healed from that hour.

Mk 9:14: And having come to the disciples, they saw a great crowd around them, and scribes arguing with them.

Mk 9:17: And one out of the crowd answered Him, “Teacher, I brought to You my son, having a mute spirit;

Mk 9:18: and whenever it seizes him, it throws him down; and he foams and gnashes his teeth, and is withering away. And I spoke to Your disciples, that they might cast it out, and they had no power.”

Mk 9:19: And answering him He says, “O unbelieving generation! Until when will I be with you? Until when will I bear with you? Bring him to Me.”

Mk 9:25: And Jesus, having seen that a crowd was running together, rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and you may enter into him no more.”

Lk 9:37: And it came to pass the next day, on their having come down from the mountain, a great crowd met Him.

Lk 9:38: And behold, a man from the crowd cried out, saying, “Teacher, I implore You to look upon my son, for he is an only child to me.

Lk 9:39: And behold, a spirit takes him, and suddenly he cries out, and it throws him into convulsions with foaming, and with difficulty it departs from him, crushing him.

Lk 9:40: And I begged Your disciples that they might cast it out, and they were not able.”

Lk 9:41: And Jesus answering said, “O unbelieving and perverted generation, until when will I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.”

Lk 9:42: And while he was coming near, the demon threw him down, and threw [him] into convulsions. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

As they approached the crowd, (a man said) “⸂lord¦teacher⸃, (look at) my son for he has a spirit and is thrown down.”

“I brought him to your disciples, but they couldn’t (heal him).”

Jesus replied, saying: “Oh unbelieving generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I put up with you? Bring him here!”

Then Jesus rebuked the demon.
