Mt 14:22: And immediately He compelled the
disciples to enter
into the boat and to go before Him to
the other side, until He would have
dismissed the crowds. Mt 14:23: And having dismissed the crowds, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. And evening having arrived, He was there alone, Mt 14:24: and the boat being now many stadia from the land, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Mt 14:25: And in [the] fourth watch of the night, He went to them, walking on the sea. Mt 14:26: And the disciples having seen Him walking on the sea, were troubled saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear. Mt 14:27: But immediately Jesus spoke to them saying, “Take courage! It is I. Fear not.” … Mt 14:32: And they having entered into the boat, the wind ceased. |
Mk 6:45: And immediately He compelled His disciples
to enter into the
boat and to go before [Him] to the
other side, to Bethsaida, until He
should dismiss the crowd. Mk 6:46: And having taken leave of them, He departed into the mountain to pray. Mk 6:47: And evening having come, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and He alone upon the land. Mk 6:48: And He having seen them straining in the rowing– for the wind was contrary to them– about [the] fourth watch of the night, He comes to them, walking on the sea, and He was wishing to pass by them. Mk 6:49: And having seen Him walking on the sea, they thought that [it] is a ghost, and cried out. Mk 6:50: For all saw Him and were troubled. And immediately He spoke with them, and says to them, “Take courage; I am [He]; fear not.” Mk 6:51: And He went up to them into the boat, and the wind ceased. And exceedingly in abundance they were amazed in themselves, |
Jn 6:15: Therefore Jesus, having known that they are about to come and
to seize Him that they might make [Him] king, withdrew
again to the mountain
Himself alone. Jn 6:16: Now when it became evening, His disciples went down to the sea, Jn 6:17: and having entered into a boat, they were going over the sea to Capernaum. And already it had become dark, and Jesus had not come to them. Jn 6:18: The sea was agitated and a strong wind is blowing. Jn 6:19: Therefore, having rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they see Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. Jn 6:20: Now He says to them, “I am [He]; do not fear.” Jn 6:21: Then they were willing to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going. |
Jesus went up the mountain. The disciples got into a boat, to cross the
sea.
It became dark. There was a strong wind.
They were far from land.
They saw Jesus walking on the sea towards them.
They were frightened. He said to them, “It is I. Do not fear!”
He got into the boat.
