	Mt 14:13: And Jesus having heard, withdrew from there by boat to a secluded place by Himself.		Mk 6:32: And they went away by the boat into a solitary place by themselves.	Lk 9:10: And having returned, the apostles related to Him whatever they had done. And having taken them, He withdrew by Himself into a town called Bethsaida.
	And the crowds having heard [of it], followed Him on foot from the towns.			Lk 9:11: And the crowds having known [it], followed Him; and having received them, He was speaking to them concerning the kingdom of God, and He was healing those having need of healing.	Jn 6:2: and a great crowd was following Him because they were seeing the signs which He was doing upon those being sick.
Mt 15:32: And Jesus, having called His disciples [to Him], said, “I am moved with compassion toward the crowd, because they continue with Me three days already and have nothing that they might eat.	Mt 14:14: And having gone out, He saw a great crowd and was moved with compassion toward them, and He healed their sick.	Mk 8:2: “I am moved with compassion upon the crowd, because they continue with Me three days already, and have nothing that they might eat.	… Mk 6:34: And having gone out, He saw a great crowd and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.

	saying,		were saying,	said to Him,
Mt 15:33: And the disciples say to Him, “From where [will be] to us in a secluded place so many loaves, as so great a crowd to satisfy?”	“This place is desolate, and the time already is gone by.	… Mk 8:4: And His disciples answered Him, “From where will anyone be able to satisfy these with bread, here in this desolate place?”	“The place is desolate, and the hour already [is] late.	for we are in a desolate place here.”
Mt 15:32: And I am not willing to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”	dismiss the crowds,	Mk 8:3: And if I shall send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way. For some of them are come from afar.”	Mk 6:36: Dismiss them,	“Dismiss the crowd,
	that having gone into the villages,		that having gone to the surrounding region and villages,	that having gone into the surrounding villages and countryside,
	they might buy food for themselves.”		they might buy for themselves something to eat.”	they might lodge and might find provisions;

And they said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”	Mt 14:17: And they say to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”	And they said, “Seven.”	And having known, they say, “Five, and two fish.”	But they said, “There are no more than five loaves to us, and two fish, unless we, having gone, should buy food for all this people.”	… Jn 6:9: “Here is a little boy who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are these for so many?”
Mt 15:35: And having commanded the crowds to sit down on the ground,	… Mt 14:19: And having commanded the crowds to sit down on the grass,	Mk 8:6: And He directs the crowd to recline on the ground.	Mk 6:39: And He commanded them to make them all recline, groups [by] groups, on the green grass. Mt 15:38: And those eating were four thousand men, besides women and children.	Mt 14:21: And those eating were about five thousand men, besides women and children.	Mk 8:9: And there were about four thousand. And He sent them away.	Mk 6:44: And those having eaten of the loaves were five thousand men.	Lk 9:14: For they were about five thousand men.	Jn 6:10: therefore the men reclined, about five thousand [in] number.

Jesus withdrew alone in a boat. The crowds followed him. He was moved with compassion for them.

As evening came, the twelve approached him and said, “The place is deserted. Let the crowd go away to villages so they can get some food.”

But he said to them, “You give them to eat.”

He asked “How many loaves do you have?” They replied, “Five loaves of bread and two fish.”

He told them to sit down on the grass.

Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, ⎡blessed them|gave thanks⎤, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set down next the crowd.

They all ate and were full. They collected the leftover pieces into twelve baskets.

There were about five thousand men.
