Mt 13:10: And the disciples having approached, said to Him, “Why do You
speak to them in parables?” Mt 13:11: And answering He said to them, “Because it has been granted to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it has not been granted. … Mt 13:13: Because of this I speak to them in parables: ‘Because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.’ |
Mk 4:10: And when He was alone, those around Him with the Twelve began
asking Him about the parable. Mk 4:11: And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but to those who are outside, everything is done in parables, Mk 4:12: so that, ‘Seeing, they might see and not perceive; and hearing, they might hear and not understand; lest ever they should turn, and they should be forgiven.’” |
Lk 8:9: And His disciples were asking Him, “What does this
parable mean?” Lk 8:10: And He said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to [the] rest, [it is] in parables, so that, ‘Seeing, they may not see; and hearing, they may not understand.’ |
(Why the) parables?
He said, “You have been given the secret(s) of the kingdom of God.
But to others, … in parables, so that ‘seeing, they may not see, and hearing, they may not comprehend.’”
