|
Mt 13:11: And answering He said to them, |
Mk 4:11: And He was saying to them, |
Lk 8:10: And He said, |
| “Because it has been granted to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it has not been granted. | “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, | “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, |

… Mt 13:13: Because of this I speak to them in parables: |
but to those who are outside, everything is done in parables, | but to [the] rest, [it is] in parables, |

Mk 4:12: so that, ‘Seeing, |
so that, ‘Seeing, |

| and hearing | and hearing, | and hearing, |
| they do not hear, nor do they understand.’ | they might hear and not understand; lest ever they should turn, and they should be forgiven.’” | they may not understand.’ |
(Why the) parables?
He said, “You have been given the secret(s) of the kingdom of God.
But to others, … in parables, so that ‘seeing, they may not see, and hearing, they may not comprehend.’”
