Jesus Driven into the Wilderness

Mt 4:1-11, Mk 1:12-13, Lk 4:1-13

Mt 4:1: Τότε ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἀνήχθη εἰς τὴν ἔρημον ὑπὸ τοῦ Πνεύματος πειρασθῆναι ὑπὸ τοῦ διαβόλου.

Mt 4:2: καὶ νηστεύσας ἡμέρας τεσσεράκοντα καὶ νύκτας τεσσεράκοντα, ὕστερον ἐπείνασεν.

Mk 1:12: Καὶ εὐθὺς τὸ Πνεῦμα αὐτὸν ἐκβάλλει εἰς τὴν ἔρημον.

Mk 1:13: καὶ ἦν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τεσσεράκοντα ἡμέρας πειραζόμενος ὑπὸ τοῦ Σατανᾶ, καὶ ἦν μετὰ τῶν θηρίων, καὶ οἱ ἄγγελοι διηκόνουν αὐτῷ.¶

Lk 4:1: Ἰησοῦς δὲ πλήρης Πνεύματος Ἁγίου ὑπέστρεψεν ἀπὸ τοῦ Ἰορδάνου καὶ ἤγετο ἐν τῷ Πνεύματι ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ

Lk 4:2: ἡμέρας τεσσεράκοντα πειραζόμενος ὑπὸ τοῦ διαβόλου. Καὶ οὐκ ἔφαγεν οὐδὲν ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ συντελεσθεισῶν αὐτῶν ἐπείνασεν.

Mt 4:1: Then Jesus was led up into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil.

Mt 4:2: And having fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.

Mk 1:12: And immediately the Spirit drives Him out into the wilderness.

Mk 1:13: And He was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. And He was with the wild animals, and the angels were ministering to Him.

Lk 4:1: And Jesus, full of [the] Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

Lk 4:2: being tempted forty days by the devil. And He ate nothing in those days, and they having ended, He was hungry.

 

 

 


The Spirit drove him into the wilderness for forty days, where we was tested by Satan.
