The baptism of Jesus and the Descent of the Holy Spirit

Mt 3:17: καὶ ἰδοὺ φωνὴ ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν λέγουσα· Οὗτός ἐστιν Υἱός μου ἀγαπητός, ἐνεὐδόκησα.¶
Mt 3:16: Βαπτισθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εὐθὺς ἀνέβη ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕδατος· καὶ ἰδοὺ ἠνεῴχθησαν αὐτῷ οἱ οὐρανοί, καὶ εἶδεν τὸ Πνεῦμα τοῦ Θεοῦ καταβαῖνον ὡσεὶ περιστερὰν καὶ ἐρχόμενον ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν·

Mt 3:17: καὶ ἰδοὺ φωνὴ ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν λέγουσα· Οὗτός ἐστιν Υἱός μου ἀγαπητός, ἐνεὐδόκησα.¶

Mk 1:11: καὶ φωνὴ ἐγένετο ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν· Σὺ εἶ Υἱός μου ἀγαπητός, ἐν σοὶ εὐδόκησα.¶
Mk 1:9: Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν ἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραις ἦλθεν Ἰησοῦς ἀπὸ Ναζαρὲτ τῆς Γαλιλαίας καὶ ἐβαπτίσθη εἰς τὸν Ἰορδάνην ὑπὸ Ἰωάννου.

Mk 1:10: καὶ εὐθὺς ἀναβαίνων ἐκ τοῦ ὕδατος εἶδεν σχιζομένους τοὺς οὐρανοὺς καὶ τὸ Πνεῦμα ὡς περιστερὰν καταβαῖνον εἰς αὐτόν·

Mk 1:11: καὶ φωνὴ ἐγένετο ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν· Σὺ εἶ Υἱός μου ἀγαπητός, ἐν σοὶ εὐδόκησα.¶

Lk 3:22: καὶ καταβῆναι τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ Ἅγιον σωματικῷ εἴδει ὡς περιστερὰν ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν, καὶ φωνὴν ἐξ οὐρανοῦ γενέσθαι· Σὺ εἶ Υἱός μου ἀγαπητός, ἐν σοὶ εὐδόκησα.¶
Lk 3:21: Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ βαπτισθῆναι ἅπαντα τὸν λαὸν καὶ Ἰησοῦ βαπτισθέντος καὶ προσευχομένου ἀνεῳχθῆναι τὸν οὐρανὸν

Lk 3:22: καὶ καταβῆναι τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ Ἅγιον σωματικῷ εἴδει ὡς περιστερὰν ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν, καὶ φωνὴν ἐξ οὐρανοῦ γενέσθαι· Σὺ εἶ Υἱός μου ἀγαπητός, ἐν σοὶ εὐδόκησα.¶

Jn 1:32: Καὶ ἐμαρτύρησεν Ἰωάννης λέγων ὅτι Τεθέαμαι τὸ Πνεῦμα καταβαῖνον ὡς περιστερὰν ἐξ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἔμεινεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν.

Mt 3:17: And behold, a voice out of the heavens, saying, “This is my Son, the beloved, in whom I was well pleased.” Mt 3:16: And immediately, having been baptized, Jesus went up from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and alighting upon Him.

Mt 3:17: And behold, a voice out of the heavens, saying, “This is my Son, the beloved, in whom I was well pleased.”

Mk 1:11: And a voice came out of the heavens: “You are My Son, the beloved; in You I am well pleased.” Mk 1:9: And it came to pass in those days [that] Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John.

Mk 1:10: And immediately going up from the water, he saw the heavens tearing open and the Spirit descending as a dove upon Him.

Mk 1:11: And a voice came out of the heavens: “You are My Son, the beloved; in You I am well pleased.”

Lk 3:22: and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in a bodily form as a dove, and a voice came out of heaven: “You are My Son, the beloved; in You I am well pleased.” Lk 3:21: Now it came to pass, in all the people having been baptized, Jesus also having been baptized and having prayed, the heaven was opened,

Lk 3:22: and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in a bodily form as a dove, and a voice came out of heaven: “You are My Son, the beloved; in You I am well pleased.”

Jn 1:32: And John bore witness saying, “I have beheld the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and it remained upon Him.

 

 

 


Jesus having been baptized, the heavens split open and the Spirit appeared descending on him like a dove.

A voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, the beloved, in whom I am well pleased.”
